About

I am Shuhei Shibahara

"Without self-discipline, success is impossible, period." – Lou Holtzs

I'm a full-stack software engineer with a unique blend of skills and experiences. Before entering the world of software engineering, I graduated from the University of California, Irvine, as a student-athlete with a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics. I also had the privilege of coaching a professional tennis player who reached a career-high ranking of #4 in the world while realizing their Olympic dream.

Driven by a sports mentality, I bring a relentless work ethic and commitment to excellence to every project. My problem-solving skills and creativity have allowed me to bring envisioned projects to life. I firmly believe that technology has the power to make a meaningful impact on the world, and this belief fuels my dedication to writing high-quality code.

One of my key strengths is effective communication, honed through various roles, including my experience as a Software Engineer and a professional tennis coach. I understand the value of teamwork and collaboration, which I attribute to my sports background, where unity and teamwork are paramount to success.

I'm interested in working across the full spectrum of software development to continue to develop my skills and to become a part of a team! Here are a few industries that I have especially peaked my interest so far:

- Athletic Performance Tracking
- Healthcare Technology
- Fintech (Financial Technology)
- Educational Technology

As I continue my journey, I look forward to contributing my skills and expertise to projects that can positively impact these industries and beyond. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey and experiences.
